Volunteering with us

Our volunteering roles are a great opportunity for anyone wanting experience in community work, catering, healthy eating, hospitality, and reducing food waste.

It’s a great way to raise confidence, share your skills and learn new ones, and meet new people.

We offer a friendly and supportive environment to volunteer in, with opportunities to try out different roles, attend community events, and join in a variety of training sessions.

By volunteering with us you will also discover and meet a wealth of local community organisations all striving to make Leeds an inclusive and exciting place for everyone.

Please contact Natalie Tharreleos if you would like any help.

How do I apply?

There is a short application form which we ask you to fill in. You can do it online, or download the word document and fill it in by hand.

What happens next?

We will invite you for an informal interview, and you can sign up for six trial
sessions to try out the role. If the role feels right, you can then join the TLC team.
The shifts can be from 3 hours per session, or longer if you choose, and as many
times a week as you wish.

What support will I get?

Whilst you’re volunteering you will have refreshments whilst on shift, and be reimbursed for any volunteer related expenses (where reasonable, agreed in advance).

We provide supervision, peer support, training and fun activities to help you develop your skills. Each new volunteer will have a buddy volunteer to help learn the skills for the role.

There are also opportunities for your share your skills and ideas, and help put on training for other volunteers.
